Nothing quite like a good adaptation!

Who remembers the original Ghostbusters game? Enter your name as Owen and you could get a boatload of money.

Here is the new Ghostbusters game. The trailer at least and what looks like the few seconds of video surrounding the already released screen shots, oh and a lot of movie footage.

I don't think as many people have seen Ghostbusters as one might think. As much as I might think that everything related to 80's pop culture is known by the average bear, it certianly hasn't happened. I know a girl that has a geek blog that had never seen the Flash Gordon movie until recently, the one with the Queen soundtrack! So it is possible that there is a percentage of America has not seen Ghostbusters. It is possible I tell you. The movie came out in 1984, and well that is a long time ago. I hope there is still an audience for this movie. Don't embarrass me game developers, you made a Scarface game, and a Godfather game. In the grand scheme of things those games are a footnote. It's one thing to make games on current franchises, it's almost shameful to go back an tarnish a good name.

After; superman, transformers, indiana jones, an entire trilogy of star wars movies, lost boys 2, the threat of a warriors remake, colorized psycho, I am legend, planet of the apes, halloween, plus a bunch of others that i have blotted from my mind, my childhood sits shivering in the corner dreading the newest bit of geek news mixed with nostalgia backed by millionaire delinquent or the equivalent of Internet squatters who are trying to exploit a culture of kids who weren't popular in school and didn't kiss girls till their 20's.

the game is being written by dan akyrod and harold ramis who wrote the original ghostbuster films... all actors, including bill murrary, will be reprising the roles via voices with all new dialogue and story... this is essentially ghostbusters 3... they are too busy now and have hired a new ghostbuster in an attempt to expand / franchise... you are that new ghostbuster... there is hope with this one to carry on and not tarnish...

I heard they couldn't get Rick Moranis for this! Let's face it, a video game would be bad for his image.

Personally, I am waiting for Innerspace to become a game. I'm confident they could get Martin Short to participate.
